Dr Harry Ziman

Governor - Kelsall Primary School
Dr Harry Ziman is one of the country’s leading school governors and has been designated as a National Leader of Governance. He has substantial school improvement experience, having successfully chaired IEBs at several schools in Special Measures. The scope of his work includes maintained schools, church schools and conversion to stand alone and sponsored academies.
As an NLG, Harry often provides support to chairs of governors and governing bodies on a wide range of topics and he is able to carry out Governance Reviews which now feature in recommendations from Ofsted inspections. He also delivers training to governing bodies. 
At a national level, he was a Director of the National Governors Association and the Independent Academies Association. He is regularly asked to speak at the Academies Show and has presented at the National College for School Leadership’s conference. He has represented governors in discussions with parliamentarians. Locally, he is Vice Chair of the Cheshire West and Chester Association of Governing Bodies and is a member of the Schools Forum. He is known throughout the borough for his passion and commitment to the role of governors in schools and demonstrates by example the essential role that governors play in strategic school leadership and improving standards. His opinions are widely sought after by the Local Authority, governors and Headteachers.
Mrs Alison Brennan

Alison is a partner in the corporate team of DTM Legal LLP, a commercial law firm with offices in Chester and Liverpool. Recommended in the last 6 editions of the Legal 500 and noted as being a “first class lawyer with strong commercial acumen”, Alison has more than 15 years’ experience advising businesses of all shapes and sizes and enjoys helping her clients to put in place and maintain a structure and legal framework to promote success and growth in a way that works for them. Her clients include a number of charities and not for profit organisations and Alison is also DTM Legal LLP’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (“COLP”) responsible for ensuring that the firm complies with its regulatory obligations. Alison has two children at Boughton Heath Academy.
Janet Sandford
Co-opted Director 
Janet is an HR professional with over 20years experience working with both blue chip and SME businesses. Most recently operating at leadership level within professional services organisations, she is a specialist in talent management and people development with a long held interest in the connectivity between education and employment.

Jo Harvey
Co-opted Director 
Appointed in October 2018, Jo is HR Director of an NHS Trust, she has experience in governance in a public organisation, organisational change, leadership development, equality and diversity as well as communications and marketing, safeguarding and ICT management experience.
Mr Martin Huber
Co-opted Director 
Martin was appointed to the role of Director in January 2017 following a 34 year career in banking. A strong background in risk management, Martin has undertaken a number of senior leadership roles and has extensive experience of business turnaround, restructuring and delivering change. He is currently a Restructuring and Risk executive with a local investment bank and a Subject Matter Expert with the Chartered Banker publication.
His wider community experience includes a commitment to and a recognition of, the value of local sport, particularly to children. Martin is a keen supporter, past treasurer and current first team manager of Chester Boughton Hall C.C. and presently sits on the Executive Committee at Chester Rugby Club with responsibility for Projects
Alison Ashley
Co-opted Director 
Appointed to the Board in May 2018, Alison is Head Teacher at Hebden Green School in Winsford, Co-Director of Cheshire Inclusive Teaching Alliance. She brings to the Board a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience in the special education sector.
Janet Myers Co-Opted Director
Chair of Governors - Boughton Heath Academy
Janet is a governance professional with multi-disciplinary background including project management, customer service and marketing.
Expert at taking a strategic vision and turning it into manageable, deliverable projects, Janet works as a freelance consultant trainer for the National Governance Association, providing bespoke support and training for governing boards and delivering training for the NGA Inspiring Governance programme in the North West region.
Steve Ellis
Principal - Boughton Heath Academy
Steve has worked as Principal at Boughton Heath Academy for 5 years and has led the school to an outstanding Ofsted judgement. The school is now a National Support School and Steve acts as a National Leader of Edcuation to support schools in challenging circumstances. He has experience working in four different primary schools (both rural, urban and academy) in two different local authorities. Steve worked as an additional inspector for CfBT inspection services from 2013 to 2015. His main areas of expertise are leadership and management structures and improving the quality of teaching. He has supported several schools as a school improvement advisor across several authorities. Steve is also vice chair of governors at an all through school in Runcorn. He has proven experience in English moderation, having lead teams for Edexcel in SATs marking. Throughout his teaching career he has been a leading mathematics and ICT teacher.
David Wearing
Principal - Kelsall Primary School
Director - CLTA
David has worked at Kelsall Primary School for 8 years where he was integral to achievement of its outstanding Ofsted judgement. During that time has been successful in securing Teaching School status for the school which was designated in cohort 2. Now Principal of Kelsall Primary, he established and directs the growing work of the Teaching School Alliance, working closely with CWAC (Cheshire West and Chester) local authority whilst maintaining and improving Kelsall Primary. He sits on the CWAC Education Improvement Board and is a member of the Learn and Lead Executive Group (a grouping of all Teaching School Alliances in the area). His main areas of expertise lie in developing leadership at all levels and he is passionate about developing Teaching & Learning in all curriculum areas.
Rob Ford
Principal - Mill View Primary School
Rob was appointed as Principal at Mill View Primary School in September 2016. He has over 15 years of experience in key leadership positions in the UK and British international schools overseas, including Pakistan, Thailand and Romania. He helped to bring a school out of Special Measures and was also seconded to support a school in challenging circumstances. He is currently studying for a Masters in Educational Leadership and has a particular interest in developing the student voice and collaborative approaches to subject leadership. Alongside his role as a school leader, he has maintained a regular teaching commitment.
