Janet is a governance professional with multi-disciplinary background including project management, customer service and marketing. Expert at taking a strategic vision and turning it into manageable, deliverable projects, Janet works as a freelance consultant trainer for the National Governance Association, providing bespoke support and training for governing boards and delivering training for the NGA Inspiring Governance programme in the North West region.
Dr Harry Ziman

Dr Harry Ziman is one of the country’s leading school governors and has been designated as a National Leader of Governance. He has substantial school improvement experience, having successfully chaired IEBs at several schools in Special Measures. The scope of his work includes maintained schools, church schools and conversion to stand alone and sponsored academies.
As an NLG, Harry often provides support to chairs of governors and governing bodies on a wide range of topics and he is able to carry out Governance Reviews which now feature in recommendations from Ofsted inspections. He also delivers training to governing bodies. At a national level, he was a Director of the National Governors Association and the Independent Academies Association. He is regularly asked to speak at the Academies Show and has presented at the National College for School Leadership’s conference. He has represented governors in discussions with parliamentarians. Locally, he is Vice Chair of the Cheshire West and Chester Association of Governing Bodies and is a member of the Schools Forum. He is known throughout the borough for his passion and commitment to the role of governors in schools and demonstrates by example the essential role that governors play in strategic school leadership and improving standards. His opinions are widely sought after by the Local Authority, governors and Headteachers.
Mrs Alison Brennan
Alison is a partner in the corporate team of DTM Legal LLP, a commercial law firm with offices in Chester and Liverpool. Recommended in the last 6 editions of the Legal 500 and noted as being a “first class lawyer with strong commercial acumen”, Alison has more than 15 years’ experience advising businesses of all shapes and sizes and enjoys helping her clients to put in place and maintain a structure and legal framework to promote success and growth in a way that works for them. Her clients include a number of charities and not for profit organisations and Alison is also DTM Legal LLP’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (“COLP”) responsible for ensuring that the firm complies with its regulatory obligations. Alison has two children at Boughton Heath Academy.
Janet is an HR professional with over 20years experience working with both blue chip and SME businesses. Most recently operating at leadership level within professional services organisations, she is a specialist in talent management and people development with a long held interest in the connectivity between education and employment.
Martin was appointed to the role of Director in January 2017 following a 34 year career in banking. A strong background in risk management, Martin has undertaken a number of senior leadership roles and has extensive experience of business turnaround, restructuring and delivering change. He is currently a Restructuring and Risk executive with a local investment bank and a Subject Matter Expert with the Chartered Banker publication. His wider community experience includes a commitment to and a recognition of, the value of local sport, particularly to children. Martin is a keen supporter, past treasurer and current first team manager of Chester Boughton Hall C.C. and presently sits on the Executive Committee at Chester Rugby Club with responsibility for Projects.
Appointed to the Board in May 2018, Alison is Head Teacher and National Leader of Education at Hebden Green School in Winsford, Co-Director of Cheshire Inclusive Teaching Alliance. She brings to the Board a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience in the special education sector.
Rob is a Chartered Accountant, qualifying with Deloitte before moving into industry roles in SMEs and larger corporate entities. He has experience in audit, corporate finance and investor relations and is Finance Director at a manufacturing company, Kawneer UK, based in Runcorn. Rob has three children, two of which currently attend Boughton Heath Academy.
